The Joy of New Shoes: A Day Out with My Growing Son

  My 12-year-old son has been growing so fast that his big toe was getting mashed in the tips of his shoes. This was my first  time  shoe shopping with him alone, and I wanted to make it a pleasurable experience. So, I decided to delight him by going for the premium experience at the Vans "Off the Wall" store, hoping this brand store would have a range of choices, atmosphere, and staffing to make it pleasant. Who knows if or when the next time might be, right? As we walked into the store, I encouraged him to find and pick anything he liked. The store was buzzing with energy, and the vibrant decor immediately caught our attention. In the past, he had trouble with size 8 shoes, as the heel would slip off and give him blisters. This time, I hoped we could find the perfect fit.  The store associate was charming: her relaxed, friendly smile and helpful responses to our requests put us at ease and enhanced our shopping experience.
